This is the Deadline Series. These artworks are drawn from my home landscape of Mpumalanga, South Africa. I collect, clean and preserve these objects. An act of paying tribute to the magic and intricacy of these often-ignored creatures. The monoprints were made iteratively and informed each other, whilst the painting and crocheted genet skin drew on the prints as starting points. These pieces use dead material as content but are not about death. They are a celebration of colours, marks and lines. Dead-lines.
